The process to register

Click to expand the steps to register in Rail Safety Worker! This process is completed in the RSW system, which can be found by clicking REGISTER at the top of the page. If you’d like to review the user guides or need a hand reaching compliance, visit the Help and Resources page.

REGISTER IN RAIL SAFETY WORKER

Step 1 > Register your business with Rail Safety Worker

To get started, you will need to register your business so your workers can get their RSW cards.

Click the button above to go to the system.

> Start by selecting the country your business operates in, and then search for your ABN

> Enter contact details, including email and business address and phone number

> Select Request Registration to have the business registration verified and be emailed login details

Already have an account? Click Back to login above Business Details Registration.

The next steps are to add your workers and order their RSW cards!

Step 2 > Add rail safety workers and verify ID

Now your business is registered, you can login, register your rail safety workers, and order their RSW cards.

You’ll start by selecting Manage Roles and then Add New Employee. From here you can enter and save their personal contact details, address, phone and email. You will also complete the online ID verification process, supplying forms of identification for verification against independent and reliable data sources.

Step 3 > Add roles, upload documents and book inductions

Next select the worker’s name to Add New Role and choose their rail safety roles from the options available.

Your selections will determine the competency documents (licences, for example) you’ll upload in the system to prove the worker’s qualifications to perform the chosen role/s.

You may also be required to book an online induction for the worker to hold certain roles. They’ll be emailed a link to complete it.

Step 4 > Purchase RSW card and subscription

Pay for worker subscriptions and order their Rail Safety Worker cards. Cards cost $115 + GST and are valid for 10 years. The annual subscription renewal costs $60 + GST. A tax invoice will be supplied on payment.

Avetta validates documents and applies roles

Avetta will validate the documents you’ve uploaded for workers during registration. You’ll be emailed if there are any issues and given a chance to update the information.

Upon approval, the roles will be applied to your rail workers and their RSW cards printed and sent, allowing them to work safety on site.

It’s important that you keep their details up to date, so you’ll be emailed if any company documents or inductions are expiring so you can update them in the system.

You may also elect to invite your workers to the Worker Portal, which allows them to manage their own profile.

The Worker Portal

Alongside the RSW system where a business manages the profiles of its Rail Safety Workers, we provide a special portal that allows individual workers to manage their own details and compliance.

ABOUT THE WORKER PORTAL

The Worker Portal is for the employees of registered contracting companies. Once your company is registered with RSW, the company administrator will register you as above, and may elect to invite you to the Worker Portal.

Who is the Worker Portal for?

The Worker Portal is for rail safety workers registered to a contracting company.

You can be invited to the Worker Portal when an administrator from your company has registered you in the RSW program. Speak to them if you’d like access to the Worker Portal, and they’ll invite you. The emailed invitation will include a link and your access details.

What do I do in the Worker Portal?

Once you’ve been invited by your company to login to the Worker Portal, you’ll be able to edit your personal information, add your work roles, update your competencies, and upload any required licences. Essentially, you’ll be able to manage all details in your profile as an RSW cardholder.

Where do I find the Worker Portal?

The link to the Worker Portal will be found in your emailed invitation, which is sent to you when your company is registered in the RSW program.

Speak to your company administrator about sending you an invitation with the link and your access details.

If you have login details, you can find the Worker Portal by following the link below.
